-
Xeomin is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A; while others may contain additional additives/proteins. This is considered a “natural” neurotoxin. The onset of visible results occurs quicker than its competitors. Lastly, resistance to Xeomin is very low due to its pure composition of botulinum Type A.
-
Most patients report little to no discomfort; no more than a small pinch during the procedure.
-
Most people will start to see results in 3-5 days but final results will be fully apparent in 14 days.
-
Yes, we strongly recommend patients to wait fourteen days after their treatment to return for a follow up. Treatment prior to the 14 days may result in facial asymmetry, as final results are not fully observable before then. We would encourage you to return between 2-3 weeks after your initial injection for any touch ups and adjustments.
-
A complete assessment and consultation with one of our experienced nurse injectors is necessary as it will allow us to accurately determine how many units are required to achieve the desired results. Every face is different and therefore, an individualized assessment is key. Consultations are complimentary.
-
Side effects are usually mild and may include swelling, bruising at injection site tenderness, redness, and headaches. Symptoms typically subside within 24-72 hours.
-
Results are based on many factors such as dosage, metabolism, lifestyle, skin health, and facial muscle strength. Typically, results last 3-4 months, but can vary from person to person.
-
Before your treatment, you should avoid taking blood thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, other NSAIDS, fish oil, omega 3, and vitamin E for 7-10 days prior treatment. Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to treatment. These may increase the risk of bruising at the injection site.

Most patients can engage in their normal daily activities following treatment. However, it is highly advisable that each patient refrains from any excessive physical activity, the use of make up over injection sites, excessive sun exposure, rubbing or massaging the treated area, touching or applying any pressure to injection sites for 24 hours after treatment. Additionally, refrain from lying down down for 4 hours post treatment. It is also advisable to either have facials or laser treatments before you have Xeomin injected or wait 2 weeks after Xeomin treatment.
Dermal Filler
-
Dermal fillers are used for the purposes of reducing signs of aging, restoring volume/facial fat loss, correcting scars, increase fullness, smooth wrinkles, and addresses lines/deep folds. The most common type of filler is hyaluronic acid (naturally occurring substance in the skin). Other types include poly-L-lactic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite of which stimulate collagen.
-
Results are seen immediately, but best results are seen after full 2-3 week healing process.
-
Results typically last 6-12 months, but can last up to 18 months depending on the type of filler, your skin type, the use of medical grade skin care, and how quickly your body metabolizes the product.
-
Most filler treatments take between 30min - 1hour depending on the area/s being treated and the amount of product being injected. An additional 30min is required if topical numbing is applied (this is typical done while performing facial assessment and mapping). Most people describe feeling a light sting during the procedure.
-
Yes, dermal fillers can be combined with other treatments on the same visit such as neurotoxin (tox) injections, PRP, and certain chemical peels.
-
The number of treatments highly depends on the areas being treated, the type of filler being used, and individual goals. Typically, treatments range from 1-3 per year.
-
Before your treatment, you should avoid taking blood thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, other NSAIDS, fish oil, omega 3, and vitamin E for 7-10 days prior treatment. Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to treatment. These may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising at the injection site.

Yes, some filler is reversible depending on the type of filler and severity of the issue. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be reversed injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase into the area which breaks down the filler.
PRP/PRF
-
PRP is a blood derivative containing red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. Platelets contain proteins called growth factors. When PRP is injected into an area, the growth factors and stem cells promote new cellular and tissue growth for anti- aging and rejuvenated skin. They also enhance the body’s ability to repair and heal.
-
Yes. PRP is relatively low risk and does not cause major side effects as it is derived from the patient’s own human blood. Risk of allergic reaction is very low. Minor side effects may include: bruising, soreness, and swelling at injection site. This subsides within hours to days depending the treatment. The handling of PRP is ensured to always be managed in a sterile manner.
-
A small blood sample is obtained from the client; which is then spun in a centrifuge to isolate PRP from other blood cells. It is made up of hundreds of growth factors to promote wound healing and cellular growth/repair.
-It is then used topically during microneedling treatments or injected under eyes or hair to promote skin rejuvenation or hair restoration.
-
The use of PRP is multifaceted. It promotes tissue regeneration and healing; therefore, it can be used to restore hair, promote skin cell renewal, enhance anti-aging properties, reduce wrinkles, improve skin texture and pigmentation, improve acne scarring, as well as used as a filler.
-
Ensure you are hydrated and have eaten prior to having your blood drawn. Although not necessary, it is recommended to ensure your cholesterol levels and blood pressure are within normal parameters as this may affect quality of platelets and PRP therapy.
*If you would like to have these checked- please talk to your provider at EmArya Aesthetics.
Microneedling
-
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses small needles to create micro injury to the skin; stimulating the body’s natural healing process in order to produce collagen and elastin. This allows for improved skin texture and overall appearance through cell turnover.
-
Microneedling can be performed on any part of the body depending on patients desired goals. The most common areas to treat are the face, neck, and decollete. Areas with scarring and stretch marks are also highly sought out for treatment.
-
Microneedling helps stimulate collagen and elastin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves acne scarring, lightens sunspots, reduces visibility of pores, evens out skin tone, improves visibility of stretch marks, and provides a glowing appearance to skin.
-
Microneedling procedures are performed with a sterile micropen needle tip and handheld Dr. Pen skin needling system. The micropen is then gently glided over the skin in a pattern-like fashion to induce new collagen and elastin.
Treatment can be completed with Hyaluronic Acid serum (HA) or PRP
-
While microneedling may sound rather intimidating, the needles are microscopic and has been described to feel like a vibration. Areas that may cause some discomfort are areas with deeper imperfections. A topical numbing cream is applied 30-45 min prior to treatment; which significantly reduces discomfort during the procedure.
-
Microneedling generally can take 1-1.5 hours to complete. Timing varies on the area being treated. This timeframe includes 30 minutes for topical numbing applied prior to treatment.
-
Results are typically based on a series of 3+ treatments. It is highly recommended to complete a minimum of 3 treatments for best results, unless a single treatment is being utilized as a touch up after completion of a series within last 6-12 months. Typically patients notice a tightening, glowing effect, and more even skin tone 1-2 weeks after their first session. Collagen and elastin continue to build for up to 4-6 months after treatment.
-
Unfortunately the aging process continues and although we can not stop this- we sure can slow its progression. Results are considered permanent; however, maintenance treatments are recommended 1-2 per year after a package completion to aide in slowing the natural aging process. This in combination with medical grade skin care products will further prolong your results.
-
Redness is expected after the procedure and may last 24-48 hours. Typically, subsequent treatments heal quicker. You may also feel your skin more dry and taut after the treatment- we will encourage and recommend specific hydrating skin cream post procedure.
-
To start, avoid any blood thinners, AHA, BHA, glycolic acids, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and retinols/tretinoin 1 week prior to your treatment. Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours prior to treatment. Please refer to our before and after treatment clinical guidelines sheet. During your consultation and assessment these instructions will also be provided.
PRP Hair Restoration
-
PRP
Platelets secrete more than 300 active substances that foster coagulation properties, immune cell recruitment & inflammation, wound healing, angiogenesis and tissue remodeling.
PRP increases blood supply to dormant hair follicles; triggering hair growth. PRP nourishes the hair follicles and pushing them to enter the active growth phase from the rest phase further promoting growth. Lastly, PRP contains stimulating growth factors which are proteins that aide in signaling the body to create new tissues.
These growth factors:
• Assist in forming collagen, helping hair regrowth
• Improve circulation - leading to thicker hair follicles
• Enhance the number of reparative cells in the affected areas • Reactivate, stimulate, and heal hair follicles
-
PRP is a low risk procedure with minimal side effects. You may experience small bruising, soreness, redness, and possibly a mild headache post procedure. Risk of infection is low as the area of injection is cleansed and wiped with alcohol.
-
Treatments can take up to 6-12 months to show full results; however, most people begin to see improvement in hair density and hair regrowth after 8-12 weeks.
-
The number of sessions are individualized depending on the extent of hair loss. A minimum of 3-4 sessions are recommended, about 4-6 weeks apart.
-
Some causes are, but not limited to: Andrgoenic alopecia (most common form), genetic and hormonal factors such as a autoimmune diseases, environmental, viral infections (e.g ringworm, folliculitis), hair shaft defects (physical damage to hair, genetic defect, poor hair care.
-
Ensure to hydrate and eat prior to your treatment. Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24-48 hours prior to treatment.
Avoid strenuous activities/heavy lifting for 24-48 hours. Avoid swimming, hot tubs or saunas, touching the treated area, wearing a hat, washing hair with hot water, alcohol consumption, hair dyes, and shampoos with harsh chemicals for 2-3 days post procedure. Lastly, avoid blood thinners (e.g aspirin, ibuprofen) 1 week before treatment.
-
PRP can treat male or female pattern baldness by increasing the number of active hair follicles and improving hair follicle thickness.
-
It is recommended to have a treatment every 6-12 months to maintain results.

IV Hydration
-
Intravenous (IV) hydration therapy is a method for delivering essential vitamins and minerals directly to your bloodstream through the way of a small catheter inserted into a vein in the arm. It is a safe and effective way to bypass the digestive tract for 100% absorption of nutrients.
-
After consultation and assessment, medical history intake, and consenting to treatment; a discussion on the most optimal IV will take place. Once IV is individualized, your arm will be prepared in a sterile fashion for IV insertion and placement. The IV will infuse over 30-60 min. Once completed, the catheter will be removed and IV site will be covered.
-
- Increases energy and boosts immune system to prevent illness
- Most effective method of delivering essential nutrients to the body with 100% absorption
- Nutrients are immediately available for use by the cells as it bypasses the digestive tract
-
Side are very rare. If any arise they are typically minor and short lived (i.e bruising or bleeding at IV site). You may also exhibit cool sensation in the arm, tasting or smelling vitamins during infusion. You may continue to have a vitamin smell in your urine for 1-2 days after IV administration.
-
Frequency and quantity of IV therapy is individualized and highly depends on the individual needs or ailments of the person being treated. For best results, IV therapy is recommended on a monthly basis unless illness, travel preparation, preparing for rigorous exercise or marathon- then an additional infusion is recommended in between.
-
Being that the IV hydration goes directly into your bloodstream, you will feel the effects within the same day of treatment as the nutrients bypass the digestive tract. Full absorption of vitamins may take up to 24 hours; however, certain infusions will have long term benefits by supporting your immune system over time.
-
Yes, there are few medications that can interact with IV therapy. Our Registered Nurses and/or Advanced Practice Nurses will conduct a thorough medical history and ensure the IV therapy selected is safe and effective without interfering with your current medication regimen or health diagnosis.
